Please ensure that all uniform is labelled, so we can return mislaid items to the right child.
Please ensure your child(ren) have their link folders in school everyday as they will be checked everyday.
Children are expected to read at least 4 times every week and are entered into the reading raffle during Celebration assembly on Thursdays. Remember that your child can also read their own books at home as this will count towards the 4 reads!
Reading books will be changed on Monday, Wednesday and Friday if your child has read at least twice.
Year 1 children will receive a Phonics home book which will involve reading real and 'alien' words, this should take 5 minutes. A letter was sent out on Thursday 16th January explaining how to support your child in reading the words. The children will receive a set of new words to read every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
Along with their Phonics homework children will receive a set of spellings to learn and will be checked every Friday. Words will be taken from the 'common exception' list which children in Year 1 are expected to know how to spell.
Maths homework will be sent home every Thursday and will be marked every Wednesday.
Please let me know if you have any concerns about your child completing their homework on time!
