You will find below the topic overviews for Oak Class. I will add to these each term so that you are able to view what we will be learning and discussing in class. All learning is with the children`s interests in mind and we alter our planning to suit the children`s interests and intrigue.
Christmas Dinner day
The children all enjoyed sharing a Christmas lunch together. They also wore their Christmas jumpers. It was a great day and we all feel very Christmassy.
Wriggly Nativity
The children had a fantastic time rehearsing for The Wriggly Nativity. When it came to performing to the parents they did a spectacular job.
We have had a fabulous time on our first school trip. We have been to Perrygrove, we went on a train ride, met Santa Claus himself, explored the treetop play area, went to Twilight Village, and enjoyed a lovely picnic together. It’s been a busy but magical day and we are all feeling very festive now!
Buddy reading
We are really enjoying having the Year 6 buddies in class on a Thursday afternoon to read to the children. It’s so lovely to see the relationship the buddies have, and they enjoy each other’s company.
Forest Adventures
we have had a great time exploring in our Forest Adventures area with Mrs Rees. We have been exploring the Autumnal scenery and looked for signed of Autumn. We are having so much fun during our first term of Forest Adventures.
Pumpkin soup
The children have had a great time learning about harvest. We have been scooping out the pumpkins ready to make our soup. The pumpkin soup was yummy!
Forest Adventure - An Autumn Walk
Oak class enjoyed going on an Autumn walk today looking for the different signs of Autumn we have learnt about in class. We then went off to explore the forest adventures area, it was great fun and there was lots to see and experience.
European Languages Day
To celebrate the day we learnt a little bit about Italy. We found out that the country is in the shape of a boot, we said hello to each other in Italian, made pizzas and created the Italian flag.
We had the Roaming Reptiles come in to see us. The children loved having their first visitor into school and they were very grown up. The children enjoyed learning about the different animals and stroking some of them too.
Our first lunch at school.
Our first few days at school have been lovely. The children have settled well and they have taken to the new routines positively.
