Year 6 Kwik Cricket competition
Congratulations to our year 6 kwik cricket team who had a great day at the kwik cricket festival. They won their 2 pool matches by a significant number of runs and were narrowly beaten in the final by 12 runs. A fantastic achievement - well done!
Spring Term 2021
Although this has been a short term, we have packed a number of exciting opportunities in. From cricket sessions to archery to a virtual Viking workshop with the Jorvik Centre in York, the children have combined learning with fun.
As part of our Roman topic, the children have been learning about Roman life as a soldier, Roman buildings and gladiator fighting through the medium of dance.
Willow Class enjoyed finding out what it is like to be archaeologists discovering small pieces of pottery and putting the pieces together.
Hand and Respiratory Hygiene
We have been learning about microbes, both helpful and harmful, and how to combat the spread of these bugs by keeping ourselves clean through thorough hand washing and respiratory hygiene.
We saw how germs can spread widely, particularly if our hands aren't clean, and also looked at how the microbes in yeast are activated by warmth and sugar.
Anglo Saxon home learning project
Over lockdown, Willow class studied the Anglo Saxons. This is a picture of the fabulous display of some of their work.
What a busy week!
We had a range of different activities last week to mark a number of occasions. We held a 2 minute silence, after April's wonderful playing of the Last Post, on Remembrance Day.
We had great fun with Eric, the cricket coach, it was a close run competition at the end of the day.
On Children in Need day, we came to school in pyjamas and joined Jo Wicks as he completed a 24 hour marathon exercise session.
Willow Class took part in the Forest of Dean virtual cross country - well done to all for a great performance.
How fit are you?
