Mrs Ceri Ulyatt - Chair of Governors
Reasons for being a Governor are:
"I want all children to be happy, confident and the best that they can be during their time at Ellwood Community Primary School. For me, this means supporting the school where necessary, but being prepared to put the school under scrutiny, if required. I see the role as Parent Governor as a privilege and I truly value the opportunity to make a difference".
Helen Cornock - Vice Chair
I am the proprietor of 3 nurseries which I feel will support me in the role as Governor at school. Early Years Education is my passion along with outdoor learning. I am keen to ensure that children reach their full potential and at Ellwood we believe that all children should Believe, Achieve, Belong.
Co-opted Governor - Rebecca Smith
Rebecca Smith - Co-opted Governor
My name is Rebecca Smith, I am a recently co-opted Governor at Ellwood School with a keen focus upon raising and celebrating standards in English. There are two main reasons why I decided to become a Governor at Ellwood School:
- Firstly, my daughter attended the school so it is very rewarding to give something back to the local school and community who supported my child through the education system so that they can flourish and grow.
- Secondly, I am a Senior Leader at a local Secondary School so I have been able to work with many students who have previously attended Ellwood. This link allows me to share my own experience and best practice in education and helps me understand the drive for continuous improvement as well as sharing new strategies in order to raise attainment, achievement and to make a school that is able to help all of its stakeholders enjoy learning.

Miss C Peart - Staff Governor
I have been teaching at Ellwood Community Primary School for 2 years. I thoroughly enjoy my role as EYFS lead and class teacher. I believe schools are not just about individual teachers and classes which is why I decided to become the staff governor enabling me to support the school in providing quality education and care.
I am passionate about storytelling, outdoor learning and creating a stimulating environment. My vision for teaching is to develop children's capabilities within a fun, creative environment, supporting them to become happy, confident and successful young people.

She is passionate about ensuring that all children are happy, feel safe and achieve their full potential.
Reverend Michelle Ireland
Reverend Michelle Ireland -
I have been visiting Ellwood Community Primary School for over two years as the local Methodist Minister. During this time I have led assemblies, worked with groups of children to plan assemblies and have advised staff on various festivals throughout the year. Having previously been a primary school teacher it has been good to be back in the school environment.
I am passionate about the whole area of mental health and well being for pupils and staff and affirm the school motto, ‘Believe, Achieve, Belong.’ These are vital elements for a school that aims to provide a nurturing, inspiring and inclusive environment where children, staff and governors are cared for and their potentials are realised.
